The Investigative Division is responsible for investigating crimes, collecting evidence, conducting interviews and assisting prosecutors in building cases in the pursuit of justice for victims.

The division includes the following units:

Detective Bureau

The Detective Bureau conducts objectively investigates crimes, documents the findings of all investigations, presents them for judicial review in a court of law, and honors established legal principles, ensuring that cases are handled with strict professionalism and accountability.

Forensic Services Unit

The Forensic Services Unit conducts thorough analyses of crime scenes to recover and preserve physical and digital evidence during the course of an investigation.

Special Investigations 

This bureau of the Investigative Division has several units conducting investigations of various types of criminal activity including the Criminal Intelligence Unit (including gangs), Narcotics Unit, Vice Squad, Diversion Unit related to investigations involving pharmaceutical drugs, and Computer Crimes Unit.
