The Virginia Beach Police Department’s Second Precinct encompasses more than 30-square miles of the City and 18 miles of shoreline. The large tourist destination known locally as the Oceanfront is located in the Second Precinct. A haven of hotels, dining and entertainment, the Oceanfront is one of the main hubs of action in Virginia Beach.
In addition to the year-round entertainment options, the Oceanfront hosts annual activities including multiple footraces, music festivals, surfing competitions, art festivals, and more. These events, among many others, highlight the family-friendly spirit that makes Virginia Beach unique.
Working in the 2nd Precinct provides the most varied opportunities for patrol officers to engage with our community. Our team patrols on foot, bicycles, motorcycles, four-wheel drive vehicles and traditional marked patrol vehicles. Officers strive to maintain strong community connections with our residents and business owners to create the safest environment possible.
