The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) is partnering with Off-Duty Management to provide hiring services for off-duty officers. Requests to hire off-duty police officers for security can be done through OfficerTRAK.
Online access to information through OfficerTRAK, including job status, officer attendance, field notes and media files, post orders and instructions, and past and future shift information.

VBPD officers are prohibited for off-duty employment in the following situations:

Off-duty officer requests must be a minimum of three hours long. Requesting five or more officers will require an additional supervisor. Events with an attendance greater than 100 patrons require two officers. The emergency rate applies when a request is received less than 48 hours prior to the start of the shift.
Cancellations must be made with more than 48 hours notice. If an assignment is canceled within 48 hours by the employer, all off-duty officers scheduled for the assignment shall receive three hours of compensation.
